1.d4 Fritzens einzige 1.d4-Partie in Frankfurt. Bei der Vorbereitung
erschien uns Grünfeld-Indisch aussichtsreicher als Najdorf, womit Fritz
2 Runden zuvor gegen Lutz schlecht aussah. Fritz's only 1.d4 game in Frankfurt.
In our preparations Grunfeld-Indian seemed more promising than the Najdorf,
in which Fritz didn't look at all good against Lutz two rounds earlier.

16.Le3 Bis hier war Fritz noch in seinem Eröffnungsbuch. Die entstandene
Stellung spielt er sehr stark, er kann die schwarzen Bauern a7, c7 und e7
attackieren und er hat die bessere Königsstellung. Das reicht ihm, um
einen der stärksten Spieler der Welt zu besiegen. Up to here Fritz was
still in its openings book. The program plays very well in the resulting
position, it can attack the the pawns on a7, c7 and e7, and it has the better
king position. This is enough to defeat one of the strongest players in the

ist soweit. Die Partie geht in taktische Gefilde über und Fritz kann

Majorität nun gut in Szene. Black has a lot of difficulties with his
double pawns. On the other side White makes good use of his majority.
